IDRIMA 2.14
Self-organized and totally cursed collective.
--- A few words about us
IDRIMA 2.14 was created in order to organize independent and
self-organized concerts, for greek as well as for foreign bands.
Our purpose is not to earn money, but to provide an extra
ground for this kind of events in Athens.
We believe that D.I.Y is politics, and that the nature, the
directness and the feeling of DIY events are of the most human expressions in
today's estranged societies.
This is what describes us and keeps us going.
--- Policy
Music is a way of expression, and D.I.Y. is a choice. We
believe that a concert is about the band, the team that organizes it, but also
about the people attending the event. We all together make the show happen.
--- IDRIMA 2.14 Team
As a team we want to organize our live shows with the best
possible conditions for everyone, apart from customer relationships,
constraints, exploitation.
By best possible conditions we mean:
- Good sound quality, so that every band can present
decently the results of its efforts. We are tired of attending live shows where
nothing can be heard properly.
- The timetable is a concert's one and not a rave party's.
- Fully cover of gas money, food and accommodation for the
bands.
--- Bands
Firstly we make clear that bands and/or its members that are
racists, patriots, sexists, homophobics, bullies, do not even bother contacting
us.
Also, everyone who sees us as another gig place and wants
just to plug in-play-and-leave (rock stars or wannabe rock stars), once again,
don't bother contacting us.
For us, being a self-labeled D.I.Y. band is not enough, as
it is not by default a negative fact to have played shows in gig places.
We prefer to examine each case separately, have a
conversation and then decide.
--- Audience
We believe the participation/contribution of people
attending our live shows is necessary in order to have a decent place that can
go on hosting events. By participation/contribution we not only mean the
physical appearance in our place, but also the financial support of bands
(through a contribution-box), the respect for the place and the neighbourhood.
We think it's obvious for someone who attends a show shares
the same beliefs with us, that is:
- Bands and places are not banks. (There are operational
costs, etc.)
- D.I.Y. does not mean yet another free show, but a show
that's done with everyone's participation/efforts.
In every live show there will be a box with a recommended
financial contribution meant for financial support of the bands and the
well-being of the place.
The Contribution-Box / Financial-Assistance-Box /
Financial-Contribution-Box :
IS NOT CHARITY IT IS PARTICIPATION
IS NOT OBLIGATION IT IS NEED
IS NOT FOR PROFIT IT IS FOR SUPPORT
IS NOT OF INDIVIDUALS IT IS COLLECTIVE
IS NOT A CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP IT IS SOLIDARITY RELATIONSHIP
--- Finale
In conclusion we would like to say that, although we are not
a political group, we will organize live shows for political purposes whenever
we can and believe it is necessary.
Also, any collective that supports our policy and wants to
be hosted here or maybe co-organize an event with us, is welcome.
